Who can renew online
PICA accepts online renewals from adults whose passport was issued after September 2001, provided it has expired or will expire within one year. You must have been an adult when that passport was issued.
The New York consulate adds that the online service is typically for people who got their passport after 2001 and have had no change of name or marital status.
Who cannot
- Children and anyone renewing a passport issued to them as a minor
- Anyone whose passport has been reported lost
- Holders of handwritten blue passports issued before September 2001

PICA states that children's passports, lost passports, handwritten blue passports issued before September 2001 and diplomatic or official passports cannot be renewed online, and that a passport with more than one year of validity left cannot be renewed online. In those cases apply through a PICA office or the nearest Jamaican embassy, consulate or high commission. For the United States, see renewing from the USA.
